(May take a minute, but well worth the wait)
New Orleans is undergoing an enormous, and perhaps the biggest in United States history, rebuilding. In this post-Katrina environment our city is beginning to flourish with life. As Lakefront Airport’s facilities return to normal the city will keep the same great qualities that made it a great place to visit and receive flight training in as before.... And with so much development going on New Orleans is returning with a fresh new look.
Ideal Training Environment
New Orleans is an ideal flight training environment and reasons to train at a flight school here include:
1. For private students:
a. Big airport environment, with a nearby practice area so minimal money is
spent on getting to an area where maneuvers can be practised
b. Separate runway used almost exclusively for general aviation traffic
2. For instrument students:
a. Multiple approaches nearby, so very little time and money is needed to
travel to them
b. Training is done in the New Orleans Class B airspace so students are
exposed to complex radio communications.
3. Friendly tower and approach control
4. One of the only class B airports in the nation that allows practice
approaches and landings.
5. Ideal weather for most of the year allows you to train on your schedule
New Orleans is a City Full of Life
The city of New Orleans itself is an attractive location for students who will travel from out of town to train. The food, music, nightlife, and character of the city are second to none. There is no better place to be when you are looking for some entertainment after a long session of flying.
Nearby Exciting Cross-Country Destinations
There are several nearby locations that can be exciting destinations for either students doing cross country flights or customers renting aircraft. New Orleans is ideally positioned to allow short, relatively inexpensive light aircraft flights to:
1. Gulfport/Biloxi to visit a casino or see a show
2. A runway sticking out into the water at Alabama’s Dauphin Island
3. Houston, Texas
4. Mobile, Alabama
5. The sugar white sands of Florida’s Gulf Coast
6. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
7. Dallas, Texas
8. Atlanta, Georgia
